Recruitment Announced for the Department of Fisheries, Government of Punjab

The Department of Fisheries, Government of Punjab, is inviting applications from eligible candidates for various positions under the development project “Aquaculture Shrimp Farming in Punjab (2024-25 to 2027-28).” These positions will be on a two-year contract basis, with a project pay scale (PPS) and potential for extension based on the project’s gestation period. Available Positions:

The recruitment drive covers a range of positions, from technical to administrative roles, each requiring distinct qualifications and experience. Some of the key positions include:

1. Director General (PPS-7)
   • Required: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
   • Required expertise: Strong understanding of database development, exposure to coding, and a good grasp of fisheries & aquaculture.
   • Experience: Several years of relevant experience in public or private sectors.
2. Graphic Designer (PPS-4)
   • Required: A degree in graphic design from a recognized university, preferably with at least three years of relevant experience.
3. Database Developer (PPS-6)
   • Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or related fields, with experience in database design and development.
4. Lab Technicians (PPS-2)
   • Required: Degree in Zoology or Biology, with prior experience in laboratory and research work in fisheries.
5. Field Supervisors (PPS-3)
   • Experience in managing nursery maintenance, horticulture, and farming operations within aquaculture settings.
6. Others (PPS-1)
   • Including positions for Drivers, Laboratory Assistants, Typists, and Attendants, requiring basic qualifications and relevant experience.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must be residents of Punjab Province.
• In-service employees are required to provide an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from their respective departments.
• Age relaxation will be provided: a general age relaxation of 5 years for males and 8 years for females as per Government rules.
