LESCO is offering qualified professionals an opportunity to apply for a senior independent position of Director General (Market Implementation & Regulatory Affairs Department – MIRAD). Those eligible to apply are expected to have advanced knowledge of technical, financial, regulatory, and policy matters, market administration, and legal issues in the Market Implementation and Regulatory Affairs Department (MIRAD) of LESCO.

Areas of Responsibility:

The primary areas of responsibility for the position include but are not limited to:

• Overseeing the implementation of LESCO’s actions concerning the Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract (CTBCM) roadmap.
• Ensuring compliance with the regulatory directives relevant to the electricity market.
• Supervising the preparation of project documentation and leading the formulation of strategic business plans for CTBCM compliance in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Leading demand forecasting and transmission planning for LESCO.
• Effective participation and representation of LESCO on regulatory forums such as NEPRA, CPPA, and other regulatory/governmental authorities.
• Coordinating with relevant entities to maintain compliance and regulatory alignment.

Qualification and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Law, or Management Sciences from an HEC-recognized university.
• Preference will be given to candidates holding a Master’s degree.

Minimum Experience:

• At least 10 years of experience in power/energy markets or regulatory affairs.
• Knowledge of the competitive electricity market, policies, regulations, and trends.
• Experience working with NEPRA and other government organizations in the energy sector.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different functions.

Remuneration & Contract Period:

• Market-based salary package, commensurate with qualifications and experience, will be offered.
• The initial contract is for 3 years (extendable based on performance).

• Up to 57 years at the closing date of the advertisement.
