Vacancy Announcement: Members of Trade Dispute Resolution Commission

The Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan, has announced vacancies for Three (03) Members of the Trade Dispute Resolution Commission (TDRC). These members will perform duties as outlined in the Trade Dispute Resolution Act (TDRA), 2022. Two members will be appointed from the private sector, while one member will be selected from the public sector, including retired government servants or in-service officers, in accordance with Section-9(2) of the TDRA, 2022. Position Details

• Tenure: Three (3) years, extendable for another three years based on satisfactory performance.
• Age Limit: Minimum 45 years and maximum 62 years at the time of appointment.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification (as per TDRA, 2022):

• Applicants must be citizens of Pakistan.
• Possession of a Master’s degree or 16 years of education from an HEC-recognized university or institution in one of the following fields:
  • International Trade
  • Economics
  • Accountancy
  • Tariff and Trade
  • International Commerce
  • Business Law
  • Commercial Law
  • Any related field

Experience (as per TDRA, 2022):

• At least 20 years of professional work experience in any of the following domains:
  • International Trade
  • Economics
  • Accountancy
  • Tariffs and Trade
  • International Commerce
  • Business Law
  • Commercial Law
  • Any related field

Disqualification Criteria (as per TDRA, 2022):

• Individuals cannot be appointed as members or employees of the Commission if they:
  1. Have been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude.
  2. Have been or are adjudged as insolvent.
  3. Are incapable of performing duties due to mental or physical unfitness as declared by a board constituted by the Division.
  4. Fail to disclose any conflict of interest or are guilty of misconduct.
  5. Cease to be citizens of Pakistan.

Terms & Conditions

1. Members will serve on a full-time basis and will receive salary and benefits as per prescribed rules (not less than MP-1 pay scale).
2. In-service officers selected for the role must resign from their government service or seek early retirement before joining.
3. Members will cease to hold office upon reaching 65 years of age or at the end of their term, whichever occurs first.
