Job Overview:
The Facilities Management Lead will play a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance and management of AKES, P’s 155+ properties, located across diverse regions such as Gilgit, Chitral, and Sindh. This includes schools, hostels, offices, and faculty housing. The individual will take responsibility for managing the entire property portfolio with a focus on budgeting, vendor management, sustainability practices, and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
The Facilities Management Lead will manage multiple complex projects while frequently traveling to remote locations. Their primary duties include:
- Property Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement strategies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintaining properties. Collaboration with AKES, P’s Senior Management Team (SMT), Operation Managers, and Regional Heads is essential to ensure that operational goals are met.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts for property maintenance services, and ensure that all necessary permits are secured. The candidate will also oversee annual audits to guarantee that standards are consistently met.
- Emergency & Safety Management: Work with the Safety & Security Manager to establish emergency plans and conduct drills, ensuring the property’s readiness for any unforeseen events or emergencies.
- Preventative and Major Maintenance: Lead the initiative for regular preventative maintenance inspections, while also managing larger-scale repairs and maintenance, such as roofing, HVAC systems, fire alarms, and CCTV installations.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Implement energy-efficient systems and environmentally sustainable practices across all facilities, which will contribute to long-term cost savings and improved operational efficiency.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. A Master’s degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience managing a large portfolio of properties across multiple locations, with substantial experience in a senior management position.
- Skills & Competencies: The candidate must be capable of managing teams, overseeing vendor contracts, ensuring sustainability practices are followed, and conducting regular operational assessments. The role also requires flexibility with work hours and travel.
