Admissions Open at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University for Spring 2025

Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU), a federally chartered university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), has announced admissions for the Spring 2025 semester in its Department of Biosciences. The university offers a range of academic programs catering to students seeking advanced education and skills in biological sciences and applied biosciences.

Available Programs

1. Bachelors in Biological Sciences

• Eligibility:
  • A minimum of 45% marks in HSSC or an equivalent qualification with a focus on Biology.
  • Candidates with 60% in Chemistry (annual system) or a minimum 2.5/4.0 CGPA are also eligible.
  • Students from a Computer Science or Pre-Engineering background can apply. Deficiency courses will be arranged during the first two semesters of the program.

2. Masters in Applied Biosciences

• Eligibility:
  • Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in related disciplines such as Biological Sciences, Applied Biosciences, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, M.Sc., MBBS, Pharm.D, BDS, DPT, DVM, or equivalent qualifications with 16 years of education.
  • Applicants must pass the STMU admission test with at least 60% marks or the HEC admission test with 50% marks.

3. Postgraduate Diploma in Bioinformatics

• Eligibility:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, etc.), Computer Science, or related fields.
  • A foundational understanding of biology and computer science is highly recommended.

4. Postgraduate Certificate in Biological Safety and Risk Management

• A 6-week hybrid program designed for professionals looking to expand their knowledge and skills in biological safety and risk management.
  • Structure:
    • Two contact sessions per week.
    • Online access to learning materials.
    • Certification upon successful course completion.

Exemptions for Entry Test

Applicants with at least 50% scores in recognized admission tests such as MDCAT, SAT, or equivalent administered by reputable organizations (national or international) may qualify for an exemption from the STMU Entry Test.
